ZENITH AF/P Ref. 50038/4 – 1970
Presenting the striking Zenith AF/P—a standout WRISTCLASSIC from the 1970s. This stunning timepiece features a crisp, well-preserved case with sharp, defined edges, embodying the rugged elegance of the era. Measuring 37mm, it boasts a bold, chunky-style case with a wide-set bezel that gives the watch an impressive wrist presence. The dial is a captivating burnt champagne color, complemented by a day and date display, while the distinctive “AF/P” marking at six o’clock signifies “Alta Frequenza Precisione,” highlighting the watch’s high-frequency movement. The original lume, particularly on the second hand, has aged to a deep, vintage orange, adding a layer of charm. The minimalist Zenith logo, silver-tone indexes, and hands come together harmoniously, delivering a beautifully balanced design. The original crown, engraved with the Zenith logo from the same period, further enhances the authenticity of this piece. Powered by the high-frequency caliber 405 automatic movement, this watch is running smoothly, keeping accurate time, and the date function is advancing as it should.
ZENITH
The watch manufacture Zenith was founded in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot. In 1911 the name was changed into „Fabrique des Billodes“. One day Georges Favre-Jacot finished a new movement which he named after the sky and the stars: Zenith. This is how the brand Zenith was born. 1969 Zenith came up with the first automatic movement called El Primero. Till today the El Primero is one of the most iconic movements in the watch-world.
