ZENITH Defy 28800 1970s Ref. A7682
The Zenith Defy from the 1970s is a remarkable example of vintage, robust design paired with technological prowess. This *Wristclassic* showcases a crisp 38mm case with sharp edges and a distinctive, chunky style that’s unmistakably 1970s. Its wide-set bezel enhances the watch’s presence, framing a beautifully faded dial—a unique feature that has taken on a natural vintage patina over time. The silver indexes and hands are well-preserved, with the original lume showing minimal, tasteful aging. Zenith’s period-appropriate logo on the dial and crown adds a touch of brand authenticity. Inside, this Defy is powered by the rare high-frequency Caliber 2562 PC automatic movement, beating at 28,800 A/h. Produced in a limited period (1972-1975), this movement is a testament to Zenith’s precision engineering. The original “lobster” bracelet completes this piece in style, providing both comfort and an iconic, retro look. With its high-performance movement, distinct aesthetic, and excellent condition, this Zenith Defy is a true *Wristclassic*, embodying perfect proportions, timeless design, and a dial that makes it truly special.
ZENITH
The watch manufacture Zenith was founded in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot. In 1911 the name was changed into „Fabrique des Billodes“. One day Georges Favre-Jacot finished a new movement which he named after the sky and the stars: Zenith. This is how the brand Zenith was born. 1969 Zenith came up with the first automatic movement called El Primero. Till today the El Primero is one of the most iconic movements in the watch-world.
